Pune

I do a Pune trip every 3-4 months. I go meet friends who will live there. A and AP r two very dear friends of mine who have relocated to Pune, one due to parents and job and the other because of marriage. We graduated together and they are lifelong friends. A was very scared that we would lose touch but she reassured herself and me that we were past the stage where we could probably not stay in touch.

This weekend I left late and caught up with a new friend-D - tht sounds weird but since I met him only at New Year's I think he will be ok with me calling him tht :) He is directionless. His comment was his mind has been rewired with music and lyrics and directions have disappeared. We did a Pune Heritage Walk around Pune Market. Had a super time, walking around. Putting fotus and giving small description as well. First stop - Vishrambagh Wada - this haveli like place which had the Peshwa's durbar.

When it came to these labels, D had a question. Now there was a very old uncle sitting in this Peshwa's darbar reading newspaper (Peshwa uncle must be shuddering in his grave!) Anyways, I was like go ask Uncle. So D (brave soul) went upto uncle and asked him in Marathi btw wot eet eees. Uncle gets up from creaking chair, lifts his creaking bones and moves towards us. He said, 'Mala pun mahiti nahin'. We of course sniggered (wtf else could we do!)

We then proceeded towards Belbag Mandir which looked a bit like this. This place was an oasis of peace in the midst of noisy Pune.

According to the route now we had to go towards the City Post Office. Disappointment as it looked like normal building. We made dig abt how it was built in colonial times and lacked aesthetics :) Then went towards Vachan Mandir. Of course with a name like this, we said must be mandir. It in fact was a 160 year old library - v nice place - full of character.

Walked towards the last port of call - Tulsibag Mandir. Very niceness place this was. This place had similar wooden columns to Vishrambagh Wada but had been painted a hideous green. See for yourself here.

Post this I did depart and went and did bond with AP over cold kapi at Marzorin. That whole area had been converted to a Walking Plaza which means no cars. People were walking, eating, drinking kapi by the gallons and there were roadside stalls and of course loads of shopping happened.

Went to AP's house and was itching to meet her kids. I met her lil one DA..he is the cutest ever. Got very sentimental. Cried for a wee bit. AP was perhaps shocked at this. But seeing her kid made me realise that I am going to go away and not see her kids grow up. They r not going to remember Maasi K and tht sucks totally! Anyways met A and did bond with her. She is another awesome friend, great lover of dance and la française. Anyways, we went for dinner to this fundoo place called Flags - this multi cuisine restaurant. Accha khana khaya and accha daru piya. :D

I had been very keen to do some hiking the next morning but was too pooped so did give up and we snoozed. :) Next day was spent wandering around marriage halls as A is getting married. Had a super time. Luncheon at Not Just Jazz as is tradition that I have estd for myself ever since that first trip to Pune. Left for Mumbai soon afterwards.

I had a very nice weekend. Meeting old and new friend (s), doing a heritage walk around Pune Market, nice food, bonding, some daru and bloddy Sun n Moon Restaurant that directionless D dragged me to. The freaking moons were different everywhere in the restaurant!! But very nice time eet was.

My weekend

After a very long time I am writing about my weekend. I had a very nice one - did different things and each gave me pleasure of a different sort.

Friday nite I went for an awesome concert. Smritiyaan organised at Shanmukhananda Hall.

Hariprasad Chaurasia and Vijay Ghate

The Pohankar and Ranjit Barot ensemble tht sucked!

Sitara Devi who at the age of 92 rocked ass!

We had amazing Udipi food and kapi this whole day..I loved eet...

Saturday I had to go to Xaviers and found myself overcome with emotion being there .

First Quad with the Basketball Court

Returned home and watched 'Thank you for Smoking'. Good flick. You root for the protagonist even though logically you know he is an asshole who is 'paying his mortgage'. His kid adores him n vice-versa n that actually to me made the flick good.

Saturday nite got drunk with Dee. Whisky sours rock at CL man. We walked for a bit and she said it perfectly, ' Why do I feel like I am floating?' Hahhhaahaha..Niceness that was.

Sunday morning dawned with a fite first thing in the morng re brekkie. My sister got a much larger portion than me and I fought. I laffed at myself at this one - a 26 yr old fighting with her Pop coz he gave the younger sibling more brekkie. :D

I went for dance class on Sunday evening and it rocked..Waheeeeeeeeeeeeee...I love dancing and I have decided am gng to do as much as possible :) 15 more classes of Intermediate to go so I quite look fwd to it.

Here's to more weekends like this. Chin chin ....

Hyderabad

Back from my weekend at Hyderabad. Insane city eet ees :) Malls abound, greenery, Hindi speaking Gulti junta and of course Asia's largest Reebok store! Yes, I kid u not...I saw this- 3 fucking floors of Reebok in Hyd and a couple of brands I haven't seen even in Mumbai - some fancy ass name like Lladro n another tht escapes the mind rt now! Fucking, there is even a Wedding Mall (which I didn't tell my Mom abt - surprise surprise) and a Sari Mall too!! Wot the heck is the world coming to!

Traffic tht could rival Bumbai's soon is there too. Construction - not too mindlesss but don't knw how long the city is gng to last if it keeps at it like that. Loved the rickshaws there- yellow in colour but so bootifully painted at the back nice it was. Hopefully my fotus will come out so junta can c wot I am talking abt. Slite mishap with camera where roll has rolled back :( so am praying to gods tht I don't lose fotus...

Had a nice 3 days there..drank so much on 1st day (by my standards) and was out by 3 am. P, C, S finished up at 6 am I was informed the next day. :D I feeel so oldddddddddddd! :( Anyways, next day wanted to go see places but P was hesitant given the blasts had occured a week back. So we grabbed a rick and he was nice fellow - we made him our tourist rickshaw. :D He took us to Charminar n then to Hussain Sagar (totallly loved tht place and remembered Murty's Hussain Sagar story of course) The Buddha there looked like he was dng a Heil Hitler (no offence to Buddhists n other secular junta out there)

So every time I saw something I made rick man stop..P didn't even bother and took fotu frm inside rick. Rick man must have been like insane Mumbai types hai..Spending time with P was amazing..she is one of my closest friends frm college- a yr younger but batty as hell and Maths major and Acturial Sciences and all tht jazz and looking at her of course no one is ever gng to think tht. Wondrous it was to spend quality time with her. Love u P :)

That done, went back home and then met Item and R in evening. R is one of those ppl I wish I had met earlier in my life. She is gng away to study and well u knw how eet ees..U meet someone and u think wtf man..why didn't u knw this person earlier coz yur life wd have been richer for sure fr knowing tht person but am glad I met her! V funny she is and v sarcastic too (Everyone knws how 'unsarcastic' I am!)

Seeing Item was loads of phun. She is phundoo and v v funny (unintentionally of course) Next time, we do the vishesh tipni thing tht u desperately wanted to do :P Oh yes U can find Item here btw and also here. She is all over the place isn't she?? :P

Anyways, luncheon over and S departed leaving us chiks to go to Shilpagram. Much like Dilli Haat eet ees. Bought pretty green sari fr Momma and a ganapati statue tht spoke to me :) Flites got delayed so entry back wasn't as smooth as going away was. Got back pooped and was an effort to get up next morning. But tis done and now I am dreaming abt Goa where Cutlet will cook fr me and daru awaits :)

My weekend n morng run

Started Friday nite. Went to H20, Khar with office types. Rather went to Bananar Bar, saw the inside and ran away from there towards Cabana which has shut down and back towards H20 again. :D Nice time was had by all concerned. From there, some of the junta went the famous/legendary of T's stories- Merlins. 30+ uncles with beer bellies, singing Hindi songs with nasal voices. Wah wah it was! One uncle tried to chat with me (as opposed to chat me up) and said things abt a dude standing in front of me- His name is J**** C****** . He loves Metallica but he loveeeeeees Hindi songs. I sagely nodded as uncle was v drunk and previously been observed by me air guitaring to a Hindi song! :D

Next morng, didn't get call frm home, asking me where the f*** I was etcetc..why r u always like this (that happened on Sunday afternoon). Was extremely surprised, thanked stars, God and other ppl and went home. Made dal like nice gurl. Drove Dad to random place in Dadar called Endolite which does lite callipers. Traffic was so fuck all- wasn't remotely funny. Got back, went for class (bad it was- esp couple salsa) and then went with Rani to CL. Had a really nice time there, didn't drink much (wot deliteful Whisky Sours they make in the kind of glasses tht me n Ranee want!!) and had khana and even dessert – sizzling brownie :D

Sunday morning dawned brite n early. I was thinkng abt gng to Ranee's place fr lunch but sistah deterred me. She said no no,wah wah..sniff sniff so gave into the blackmail and we decided to cook Chinese. Wot a fucking disaster tht was :D Too much of Madame Karen Anand's Schezwuan Sauce led to hotter than hot noodles and veggies. We died, our bums would burn if we consumed type scene happened. Mom did chaavi, I lost temper- lunch went wasted (inspite of the sugar tht sistah added to concotion (no other name fr it) and it went downhill frm there. Said a few hometruths- not liked but didnt really care at that point.

Told sistah lets get out of home. Drove to Palm Beach Rd- hit a 115 and wot a fucking awesome drive tht was. Felt like pushing car some more but didn't want to push my limits. Sistah loved it of course. Went home, had a bath and got ready fr class. Had loads of phun in class- my last one eet was! :( There r 2 more but I's gng to miss it coz I's gng to Hyderabad to see Prankie baby! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Anyways, went to meet Bronzoe for kapi. Had a nice time with Dee n Bronzoe. Drove Dee to tailorman. Came back, she had rasam and watched senti video tht P made fr us. Drove her back and my weekend finished with a firm decision made due to lovely conversation that I had with my beloved K. Totally love ya for tht one darling. Hug :)

Got up this morng and ran..Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..v v kicked abt tht too..Nice it was..3 images stand out in my head from the morng run- u knw those veggie trucks rt which carry veggies into the city. Anyways, the first truck I saw the dude at the back had no place. So he was stuck like Spiderman to the top of the truck. The 2nd veggie truck I saw the guy no place at all at the back of the truck – so he was on the roof of the truck. The 3rd one – the dudes were standing like soldiers, all in a straight line, holding onto the rope hanging from the top of the truck. I retained those images, felt like drawing cartoons but well I suck at drawing so anyone reading this wants to take it up, to be telling me and I shall describe scene like tht to get into ink :)

My weekend n morning walk

Good. Watched Cash - a spectacularly bad movie and I recommend it purely so junta realizes how good Shootout was in comparison :D

Drank..not good of course..well except for that dinner with Dee. Phatte piya and laffing insanely like lil kids. Wot a blast tht was :D The restaurant Ivy recommendation came from him

Met Cutlet who visited for 2 days. Did breakfast with her and tht was a whole lot of fun. Dee, me and Roch - the 3 Musketeers, the 3 Chembur bitches and other various names have come for us. I cannot believe at times she has gone away married etal (much to the severe disappointment of all the men who msged me on Gtalk and asked me who the babe was!! I swear without exaggeration must be atleast 20 plus men who asked me whose the babe, whose the babe...:D

GRE grind shall be started in the upcoming weeks and my reading will stop. Something that makes me sad :( Oh upside, this morng, walk - phatte tha..things r soo green..bootiful eet ees :)

My weekend

Friday nite - drinks with P n S. Good time had by all concerned. Drinks, smoke filled atmosphere (why the fuck do they never have an vent for these places?) and excellent conversation. Yes we actually managed to have good conversation inspite of the music playing so freaking loud. So much salsa-ish music they played..nice it be!

Sat was supposed to go to KC to finish up some stuff but Mom was too tired..so ended up staying home..which meant doing DD things- go to bank, bond with idiotic bank man, go to the laundry (we pay a frigging fortune to him - bet he has bought that house in Shankara colony with our money) and go to Amrut (who does free delivery btw - so why I go is beyond me - its one of those existentialist questions I have stopped asking). Made dal for lunch and then skipped the afternoon snooze.

Went for salsa and had a disastrous class...did so much crap..messed steps completely..blehpfft it was! Went to SB's house with V. Dee of course skipped (gee wot a surprise!) Am seeing her after absolute ages..met RR and M. M is going away in sometime (I shall miss him dearly). RR was in an insane mood that day- have never seen him like that..nice it was..

V n SB bonded over crappy Hindi movies and the extent of their knowledge stuns me..they both knew some song from some Mithun movie called Guru with Sridevi doing double role..The lyrics of the song (they sang this btw) went something like "Mein bad boy, tu bad girl, humara kya hoga anjaam" or some such thing anyways...total JC material I tell ya!

Oh, yes another highlight was going to Monza..the wine boutique there was nice...I had like a 5-10 min conversation with the owner dude there about wines and wine holders..excellent wine options they have though. Should go there if you want to get a good choice of wines - they have wines from France, NZ, Australia and Germany :D

Also, I watched tele after a long time. Oh man, we watched some total shit on tele. In order:
  1. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa (hope I got that rt) - SB's aunt calls from Cal to tell her to watch Salman Khan on tele. So of course we all watched Mr Khan! Jesus Christ wot a programme first of all. Some 5 permanent judges and 2 celeb judges. This list includes 1 unshaven man, Himes, 2 types calling themselves Hitlist or some such crap and of course BAPPI. Bappi had rhinestone studded glares on (I went and peeked at the tv screen- they were glinting off the lites) This week - Mr Khan and Ms Dutta (looking appropriately serious in a salwar kameez with the headfones on). Sallu was appropriately horrendous too.
First contestant who walks is dressed in some pink outfit -made her look like gola (that which u get on the beach) and she had matching necklace as well. (M was suitably offended at this contraption) Lara listened and the Hitlist fellows gave standing ovation.

Then a really young looking fellow (I am informed this is Udit Narayan's son) came on screen. He did some yapping. Then this chik called Mouli walks in. She is from Houston, USA. Ummarican accent and she luuuuurves Sallu of course. She is wearing small skirt, small top and glares (aargh) She says with Ummarican accent, "I dedicate song to Mr Salman Khan - the coolest dude". End of song, " I would like to give u a hug" Mr Khan says, " Sweetheart, I would like to too!!" and they hug each other (By this time I am crying too)

2.Sun TV- I really am not watching television anymore. Silk Smitha came on screen. She literally lit up the screen. I watched stunned/gobsmacked/horrified/mindboggled as she and Kamal Hasan contorted their bodies and did some strange aerobic exercises. Radhika and Rajni saar also followed. Recommendation: Watch Sun TV arnd 3.30 am in the morning - soft porn time but omg wot the fuck are they doing time also!

Next morng, sister msgs me - pls call home as parents r driving her crazzy. So I called - unke dil ko rahat mil gayee..hadn't slept so was freaking tired..did afternoon snooze..had a brilliant salsa class. :D Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.. Did some window shopping with Dee and we drove ourselves crazzy as we didn't have money to go around! Twas nice - went to Geeta Bhavan after so long and didn't eat vada sambhar there..She had our Mango icecream and felt really happy abt it. :D

Went home and did sleep almost imm. Nice weeekend it has been esp coz of no GRE crap hanging on my head like a Damoceles sword! :D

My weekend

Weekend in effect started Friday. Was working from home due to GREgiri going on and well had a marvellous time especially in the evening..The reasons for that include evening tiffin on Fri and my sistah darling.

So idli maav (flour in Tamil) was there..however since sistah and me had been eating idli for the past 2 days, we did minor rebellion. Mom said ok, cut the onions and make da utthapa. So of course I was the grand creator of the utthapa. First try, wot we call nai dosai (dog dosa- I think something to do with the fact that the dog wouldn't eat it) was made and that of course was a perfect one..so buoyed with the success of this, I attempted a proper one for my Pop. The trouble started when I had to do the flipping- the middle bit got stuck to the scraper thingie and so when I flipped my perfect utthapa had a hole in the middle..Needless to say my Pop was speechless..(and he laughed out loud) Dosai was not enuf to feed me, sistah and Momma..so sistah made Maggi and me and she had Maggi and dosai..excellent tiffin..reminded me of this disgusting Maggi bondas which I never conshumed from IIT Shack and which Murty loved!!

Then whilst studying, looked at my sistah who was sitting absolutely lukka in life and lolling on bed. Sup I asked..nothing..am gng to play the guitar now..told her tis the life..playing guitar, sleeping, faffing, going out with man, reading..accha scenes hai.. and I was struggling with fucking quant!!

Saturday dawned for me at 8.30 in the morng..studied the whole day. Nice that was :D Then, salsa class which was not bad and a drink after at CL. :) Came home for dinner and Mom was pleased about that which is good of course. Sunday dawned brite and early at 8.30 am too :) Same routine followed Sunday. :D Studied studied studied...then went for salsa class which was loads of fun yesterday. Everyone got their solo routines right with the correct timing - tres cool that was :)

Grabbed a quick drink and went to see the thought provoking 'Vagina Monologues'. What a fabbuulooous play that was..the actors were superb. They were:
  • Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal who stars and directs the play
  • Dolly Thakore with her cool silver hair and big bindi
  • Jayati Bhatia (her comic timing is simply amazing)
  • Sonali Sachdeva (she did this Marathi skit speaking English pakka Marathi style - such a brilliant job & she was pregnant!)
  • Avantika Akerkar (fab impressionist- did accents and voices amazingly well)
So much food for thought, they made us yell vagina and cunt and everyone and the audience participated wholeheartedly :D Some of the monologues made me sad and the others were joyous and full of comedy. They talked about genital mutilation (terrible stats those were). The older ladies - Mahabanoo and Dolly did a very poignant monologue about rape especially related to women refugees in Bosnia and women in Gujarat and Kashmir. I always knew that men were capable of ignominious deeds but to hear it recited like that made me feel as violated as those women must be feeling.

Some of the best monologues were Jayati Bhatia's, purely because they were so funny. She does a wonderful job of making the viewer imagine her situation. Her first impression of a Punjabi woman whose hubby likes shaved vaginas was too much (the audience was in splits) and the 2nd last one of the 'Moaner'- howfuckinglarious...too good she was!

After the play got over, both Dee and me wrote our comments out. Dee said the play made her feel liberated and I have that feeling too. Like somehow listening to 5 women talking about women's vagina's was talking about us and who we are as women in today's society. I can't get over the play and am probably going to have a hangover for sometime. Almost said vaginal hangover but somehow that comes out sounding weird and funny! :D

I recommend the play to one and all and in Sept there is a Hindi version of the play coming out. Must watch I would say!

My weekend

Hmm..after a break of a week I write abt my weekend. Well this was one was interesting and highly Maths filled :D Sirjee has given me 500 sums to solve with a target of 100 a day and its a different matter that I am at 176 now! Don't ask why, ask me why not (Ok that was inane!)

Anyways, Sat morning was DD (Medems coined this one where I am dutiful daughter doing things) and came home. Solved Maths and more Maths and then P,D,V came home and we did random practice for salsa...salsa was awesome! :D Total phatte and I got my jive steps right..wheehee to that..Yahoo emoticon severely needed here..Anyways went to CL and had a blast there...danced, had a couple of whiskey sours..so all good there...

Sunday morng - drove Mama to the hospital. Drove after such a long time..was real nice..got home and of course did Maths..wot fucking else seriously...Anyways, went for salsa and had loads of phun..then the search for the elusive English movie began..fucking no English movie running anywhere between 6.30 pm - 8.00 pm!! Total bc that was..anyways, Dee and Sat suggested that we go to Flavors of Kolkata in Vashi..

Hmm...went there, consumed and died! :D Wot amazing Bong foooood :) I shall list out wot all I had for my general pleasure as I remember and salivate (Yahooooo emoticon!!)
  1. Macher chaap
  2. Kashundi
  3. Chiken cutlet (Sat said it was called that only!!)
  4. Macher kaliya (so soft and succulent)
  5. Bath
  6. Chingedi macher malai curry (tiger fucking prawns...ooooooooh these were)
  7. Chiken kausha (Theek thaak)
  8. Rasagolla
  9. Mishti doi (not to my liking I am afraid)
  10. Kamal Bhog (Saffron in colour and they had a filling in the centre)
The only crib I had was that it was too much effort to eat all the food..I mean fish ka bones, chiken ka bones, tiger prawn ka woh covering..too much eet ees..but I should also admit it was sooooo worth all the effort! :D

Anyways back at work and next week GREney shall end..wheeeee :D

My weekend

Someone complained tht I hadn't written about my weekend. I didn't know my weekend was so looked forward to :P Anyways, last week was shitty man..fell sick and felt like I had died or something (I so love exaggerating!) Anyways, family did pampering..managed one day of office and at the EOD I felt like someone who had run deux marathons. So pooped I was and honestly just scraped thru the day. Anyways took day off..got well by Sat morning..and was the beginning of a long weekend.

Watched Paris Je T'Aime and Pan's Labyrinth. Phatte movies both of them. Paris Je T'Aime was a gorgeous movie (wrong use of adjective but dont care)..loved all the stories even the weird and wonderful Ms Lin story...:D Pan's Labyrinth was an unusual story and I can see why it won the Oscar. Its certainly a different level of thinking and you should read more abt it here or even better catch hold of the DVD or something.

Saturday went to enroll for salsa class. Paid money and of course decided we were going for dinner. Fuck, those Golden Wok guys gave us a table near the loo – I refuse to sit in a restaurant near the loo, thoda weird hai apart from all the bacteria floating around. So left and went to original choice – CL. Haven't been there in ages and had a wonderful time in fact with Chembur ki Rani and Shere-e-Chembur. Had a freaking awesome time. :D Did dancing and totally had a blast. We blocked people's views of the screen..fucking people come to pubs to watch games where clearly there is dancing shit happening..so good phun it was! Bloddy Rani and Sher watched golf- basthurds the pair of them! I was like fuckers, u can't come to pub and watch Tiger Woods playing..yeh ho naheen sakta!

Sunday- Probability in the morning (which I love btw!!) As I told Boy, wot eet ees yaar..some maths dude decides let's measure the degree of uncertainity that we feel about things..is that ball red or blue amongst those 25 balls etcec...awesome eet ees..mujhe pyaar ho gaya hai.. :D Dee's place for lunch – chicken and a couple of shandies..oh whiskey sour it was at CL (Loveee eeet!!) and yes had a v v nice time..thank u darling for that...:)

At her place, got a text from a v close friend from Norway – Renate. She held my hand in Ncl and generally was my mother there :D (Funny I always manage to find mothers fr myself in places but that is a different post and story!!) Anyways, she is going to be a mommy this Sept and I am going to be 'cool, nice aunt' – her words not mine. I am sooo happy and I actually called her and spoke to her yest. Man, after 2 years I heard her voice and she sounded so happy and giggly – her usual self basically. Man, I miss her totally. Its been 3 yrs since I saw her and felt so good talking to her and knowing she is going to be a Mom. :)

Day ended with more Math and well knowledge that it was back to work again which was actually not bad. :)

My weekend

Had decided 6 million yrs back tht I was going to go away to Pune this weekend. Deed accomplished! :D Took Volvo, went and saw this bootiful movie called ' Sirf Tum' starring
  • Priya Gill w ho cried thruout the whole movie
  • Sanjay Kapoor - why does he exist
  • Sushmita Sen - wearing diamonds and begging pyaar ki bheek
  • Salman Khan - blehpfft
  • Shagufta Ali - woh apne pati ko samajh naheen paati
  • Jackie Shroff - rick driver called Pritam who does one dance number
  • Mohnish Behl - who proposes marriage to Priya at a bus stop!
Sanjay Kapoor also mouthed lines like, "Meri pavithra hi mera bank balance hai!" I cringed and winced thruout the movie...I was on the first seat and well however hard I tried to ignore it, just could not!

Reached Pune, found phrainds...did bonding with S n K over chiken and amazing mutton! It has this amazing elaichi flavour..totally yummy! Went Vinnie, went to AP's place to see the baccha partee who were bootiful children. AP is an awesome mommy :D

Partied tht nite at Area 51 (built like a frigging spacecraft)..music ranged from shit to crap to good to crap all over again. 3 in the morning, put my head out of the car on an empty Pune road and screamed!! Wasssss funnnnn....totally awesome experience...also did deliberately a wee bit later to scare some random ppl walking on the road! :D Got home, did sleep...Sunday brunch at Not Just Jazz - a tradition by now..went to awesome Mochas at KP and man tht place was awesome...ordered brownies we didnt eat and fucking then got home...and then went trekking!!

Vinnie mavsi (she would kill me for this one!) took me to hill which we climbed precisely 60 minutes before I departed fr Mumbai...phatte it was..we went up on tht hill and screamed our lungs out...Sharad Pawar's brother's bungalow was at the foot of the hill. I think he mite have been a lil bit disturbed by the yelling :)

All in all, a good weekend- so nice to meet with friends and do random giri and relax and drink daru and bond :)

Monday nite daru and Wed morng run

Yes, daru on Monday nite..t'was quite satisfying...ppl I knw exclaimed..daru on Monday nite!! Arre kyaa karega...ichaa thi aur fulfillment bhi hua! A couple of shandies with Denise, my love...Prawns from Lambas and some desultory conversation - life felt good on a Monday....

Went for a run this morng. Nice it was...the sky was gorgeous..clouds lined up in neat rows...the sun peeping out once in a while...my gulmohar had faded a bit..But the tree at the end of that road was in full bloom...the one outside my hall window looks phatte too..Kite flying..BMC guys have cut tree branches along my running trail and I could smell the green leaves...the smell of cut grass/leaves is intoxicating like the smell of mud aftr tht first rain! I want it to rain only to smell that :D

Weekend, run and Mondays

My weekend started last Friday...daru with the usual suspects at H20..Started off really boring and then got really interesting. Mr S took centrestage and captivated his audience..he was the rockstar of the show and man, wot fundooo steps...niceness it was...

Got home next morning..continued my GREney..learnt new words which I intend to use over the course of the week. :D So junta here I come with perspicacious, sophomorific, chary and other bootiful words :) Anyways, went to this place called Udaya in the nite..(on an aside had to pass thru Ambedkar types celebrating and was struck with realisation that he would have never wanted this hideous celebration of who he was and what he meant for the people)

Nice khana was..chicken scored over prawns which looked they had been cut up further into smaller pieces..used as I am to Lamba's prawns, this was total henh time..Got a nice surprise as V turned up..v v v nice that was....:) Sat baby, u r a basthurd for giving me that wonderful surprise..:D

Sunday was niceness too...went for a vintage car rally. Was fucking amazing..bikes and cars..saw atleast 3 Rolls, Morrises, a gorgeous green Dodge, Buicks, a fucking Harley Davidson (like a car acc to RG), amazing old bikes from the 1930's - very nice it was...went fr brekkie...proceeded to Mr Bojangle's house where he fed us pekoe tea. :D

When you meet someone who cares about Bombay and its heritage its a precious joy I must say that..salute to Mishee Mouse for that :) There is so much love for used to be, where to go and what to do and its precious knowledge...there are such few people like that and if there are more, they have escaped my eyes anyways..

Then, borrowed 'Fort Walks' and did the Gothic-Art Deco walk..was amazing...fucking hot afternoon. Lived in Mumbai all my life and didn't know half these places existed! We saw Shakespeare's head under the staircase in the University and saw a well made in 1851 which has now been shut to the public.

Town is gorgeous - almost convinced the boys that we shd do the MTDC bus ride..am going to definitely do that..town so bootiful at nite..must do eet eees..Lunch at Churchills - theek thaak and loverly dessert called Silk at Theobroma...:)

Came home, slept for 10-11 hours, give or take and got up this morning and did run :) At work and my Monday is on right now ....
